Judy Barker (Language Centre)
One of the major challenges facing our international students is making effective use of English in their academic studies. To enable them to benefit from best practice online resources, the University of Worcester Language Centre has been working together with a number of UK and international HE institutions. As a result, from July 2015 onwards students will have access to ‘English for Academic Studies’, a versatile study tool that can be customised to suit their particular needs. The programme will be integrated into Blackboard and can be used for either blended or autonomous learning. Its dual aim is to prepare students for studying in the medium of English and to help them develop lifelong strategies for improving their academic English. We would be interested to discuss with you how ‘English for Academic Studies’ could be used to best effect, both before and after students arrive at Worcester.
