A quick update on how you can be part of the IoE LTSEC dialogue.
1. The IoE LTSEC website The Learning Conversation is off to a good start and a big thank you to colleagues who are contributing content.
A few highlights include:
Branwen gives an overview of the impressiveStudent As Partners project see https://ltseclearningconversations.wordpress.com/2015/05/08/a-fantestic-resource-from-a-student-as-partners-project/ .
If you have also led a SAP this year please send me a short paragraph (or contribute directly to the blog) and we would be delighted to add it.
Karen has published the first edition of New Perspectives seehttps://ltseclearningconversations.wordpress.com/student-research-on-tl/first-edition-of-new-perspectives/
“This on-line space aims to act as a platform for new researchers to present their research. The emphasis is on teaching and learning strategies which can be used to inform future practice. The short papers detail the outcomes of small scale projects, which are often the practitioner’s first forays into classroom based research”.
There are four research papers from our NQTs. Please contact Karen directly if you have student research you would like published in New Perspectives.
2. Talking Tuesdays: A quick reminder that the second of the LTSEC informal lunchtime discussion is this Tuesday 12/5/15 1.15- 2.15in BYG197.. Please feel free to bring along your lunch. This an opportunity to meet informally to discuss anything about learning and teaching interests, developments, projects, challenges…Everyone is welcome and any topics of interest to you, related to learning and teaching, can be discussed.
I have had quite a few queries about how to interact with the website. Some help materials and videos are underway and should be available shortly. You can also contact Dave Wager directly if you would like individual assistance in getting email@example.com .
In the meantime please drop in Tuesday lunchtime 1.15 to 2.15 in BYG197 with your smartphone/tablet/laptop and we can help you get started there and then! Don’t worry if you do not have a mobile device as the 20 IoE iPads have been booked. If you want to use the WordPress or Twitter Apps (you don’t have to- the website is fine) they can be downloaded from the App store (iOS) or equivalent for Android.
As of this morning we already have 98 followersvia email updates (including 7 in the USA- probably from my tweeting). ‘Following by email’ is probably the easiest and quickest way to keep up to date. We can show you Tuesdayor you can follow these notes…
Following by email: go tohttps://ltseclearningconversations.wordpress.com/ to view the site. On the right you should see an option to ‘follow this site by email’ then you just need to enter your email address. It will give you the option to adjust email alerts e.g. daily/weekly. Here are some notes on how to do it https://en.support.wordpress.com/following/ .
If you tweet and use the#thelearningconversation your comments will also appear in the live twitter feed on the home page. Some great links have been tweeted and you can scroll back to view them.
